🌟New Crochet Pattern Release: Hooded Shawl
Happy Belated Galentine’s Day!
I’m celebrating … my Selene crochet shawl pattern has recently published for free on the blog and I’m running a promotion via Ravelry (free PDF).
Designed for easy layering, with a textured stitch pattern, I’ve included a hood for extra warmth.
The shawl (part of the *Selene wearables) is one size, fitting a wide range of body sizes when worn open.
This is a relaxed, wearable project I hope you’ll enjoy making and wearing!
*Cardigan, Sweater, Triangle Shawl
Before I share the link to the free pattern, I keep forgetting to share my free self-care resource library - sometimes we need a little more than crochet to slow us down and take care of ourselves. If you’re interested in browsing the freebies, here’s the link to the free library. I’ll probably add a link to the bottom of the emails in the future.
How the Free PDF Download Works
The promotion for the shawl with hood is running for this weekend. There is no limit on the downloads but it will end at midnight on 15th February 2026 (GMT time).
You’ll need to visit the pattern on my blog (link below) and once on the pattern, click on the image that says ‘Free Ravelry Download Click here to Redeem the Code.’ You’ll be taken to ‘Redeem a Coupon Code’ on Ravelry. Click ‘use this coupon’ to be taken to the shopping basket on Ravelry. Click ‘check out now’ and the pattern will be in your library. Don’t check out unless it is showing zero!
Clicking on the link below will take you to the pattern on my blog.

🧶 Coming Soon:
February
There’s one more pattern releasing for free on the blog this month which I designed for the 2026 Lapghans For Charity Blog Hop hosted by Simply Melanie Jane. My day is 19th February and I’ll be in touch to remind you then. This is a new pattern that you won’t have seen before.
Reminder: this hop is running until 23rd February with a different designer and a free PDF each day. Clicking here will take you to the event page.
March
I’m taking part in another hop in March (my day is 20th). The International Crochet Month hop is hosted by Marie from Underground Crafter and from 1st to 31st March, a different designer will be offering the PDF free for their pattern. There should be a lot of variety on this hop as each designer is contributing a pattern to represent something they love about crochet (a favourite stitch, technique, project type, etc.). There’s also prizes on this hop! I’ll be in touch with the event link on 1st March 2026 so you can check out each day’s designs.
I hope to be publishing an all-in-one sweater pattern in March too. I think it will be after the hop.
I’ve decided to move the chunky cardigan to hmmm, maybe September, when I think the timing will be more suited to the project.
April I’m hoping to share a granny square blanket and a granny square poncho.
Currently Working On …
A short sleeve cardigan - I’ve loved working out the stitches and design of this one. The back is worked first and then the fronts directly onto the back so no seam at the neck. I’m all about comfy in my designs 😊
Plans for …
A couple of short sleeve tops – I have yarn for one of them. I’ve been looking around for a suitable yarn for the other which I think I’ve found and will be ordering later on today.
Life is still a bit topsy-turvy with Clover. It’s so frustrating he’s not allowed out to walk yet - he’s a ball of energy and ready to go out! Second jabs are on Monday and even though we have to wait 2 more weeks after that, the vet has said we can start puppy classes the day after his jab on Tuesday. He’s almost 14 weeks now and seems to grow overnight … Here he is zipped up in Pete’s coat. We’re giving him as many different experiences as we can so he won’t be too scared when the time comes to walk.
What’s been going on for you? Have you been crocheting?
Let me know if there are any patterns you’d love to work on in 2026 and if there are any roundups of patterns you’d be interested in.
Happy crocheting
Shaz 🌸
