Hello 👋🏻 In this week’s newsletter I’m sharing:

· info of a new blog hop coming up in November
· the next Behind the Stitches interview
· the Festival of Lights CAL
· savings with crochet dot com
I hope you find something that interests you!
Before I move on, thank you for the support for my Coccinelle pocket shawl pattern. Your comments and feedback help me in lots of ways!
Moving on …
Chunky Stripes Throw
My beginner-friendly throw is easy to customize to any size that suits your needs.
I’ve used three colours in the design—a main colour and two contrasting shades. All three colours are used to work the Floret stitch, which adds a lovely “pop,” and the rows between the Floret stitches are worked in the main (neutral) colour in rows of double crochet. To bring it all together, the border is crocheted using all three colours in half double crochet. This creates a beautiful interplay of texture and colour.

Bundled Up Blog Hop
This blog hop is hosted by Michelle of Two Brothers Blankets and is taking place from November 1st to 30th 2024.
I don’t have the link for the event post yet but will share it when I have it.
Every day there will be a free pattern for you to download and the days alternate with a hat one day and scarf the next. There is a paid bundle that will available for all the patterns at a greatly reduced cost. This will only be available while the hop is running.
Great for your Christmas gifting makes, finished makes to sell in the marketplace, or a treat for yourself 😊
Save the date and I’ll share the link soon.
Behind the Stitches
Next up in my series of interviews is Lindsey Stephens from The Lindsey Life.
You might know Lindsey from her Craftsy class, Seaming Crochet. In the industry, she is also well known for her work as a crochet and knit technical editor for books and magazines.
I enjoyed questioning her and of course her answers!
You’ll find the interview on my blog here.
Festival of Lights CAL
This is Scheepjes official Autumn/Winter Blanket Crochet-A-Long for 2024.
Taken from the information:
“As each motif is made, immerse yourself in vibrant hues inspired by the world’s most mesmerising light and colour displays - hot air balloons, Northern Lights, fireworks and light trails. Made using luxurious fibres - an Extra Fine Merino Wool blend or GOTS-certifed Organic Cotton yarn, this dazzling project will add a luminous touch to your home during the depths of winter darkness.”
Very poetic 😊 The blanket does look amazing!
Part 1 has already been released (it started 16th October) and will run for 8 weeks.
Clicking on Part 1 will take you to the free pattern (written in UK, US, DE and NL) and video tutorials for UK and US left and right-handed.
If you want to substitute the yarn for the CAL, YarnSub is a good place to start. If you haven’t used this before, just type in the yarn you want to find a substitute for and the results match the texture, gauge and fiber content.
Clicking here will take you the CAL information.
Enjoy!

Blocking combs are now live – these are different to other blocking combs on the market.
In the blocking comb set you will find 30 stainless steel 4 pin combs that connect together. Combine all 30 combs together and you can block an edge up to 53” long.
The set also comes with a set of 50 stainless steel T-pins should you need those for a few tight areas.
Storage case measures 6.5" x 3" x 1.75". Individual blocking combs measure approximately 1.5" x 1.5"
I have an exclusive code for 20% off 20OFFBC which ends 11/1/24. Clicking on this link will take you to the blocking combs page.
The perfect stocking stuffer or secret Santa gift?
(Note: £40 and over is free postage to the UK).
Coming up next week is a roundup of chunky crochet blanket patterns and a separate guide for how to design your own chunky blanket using my simple steps. I’m planning my next pattern release, the Textured Trails pocket scarf the following week.
I’m waiting on a yarn delivery for a new project I’m excited about! More about that soon. I have the two poncho patterns to publish (I might leave one of them until the new year seeing as the fabric is lightweight) and I’ve finished a short-sleeve sweater vest. I love how the pocket shawl worked up in Drops Nepal! just need to sew in the ends and sew the pockets on (I’m putting it off … anything but sewing!) So many ideas and not enough time hahaha.
What yarn have you been working with lately? Any recommendations? You’re welcome to share your favourites in our Facebook group.
Have a fab week ahead.

Really looking forward to your chunky blanket design tips, Shaz! I'm an enthusiastic but not very advanced crocheter and I love crocheting with chunky yarn! Made a blanket last winter and am currently looking for a project for this one... 🧶🥰 🤞
